EMPLOYERS®, NFIB Honor Nevada Student Entrepreneur with Young Entrepreneur Award
The NFIB’s Young Entrepreneur Awards (YEA) program was established to
raise awareness among the nation's youth about the critical role that
private enterprise and entrepreneurship play in the building of America.
Since 2003, the
“Small businesses are the innovators and job creators in our economy,
and EMPLOYERS is committed to supporting student entrepreneurs like
Aspiring Orthodontist Runs Dance and Tumbling Business
McEwan was honored by the NFIB and EMPLOYERS based on her strong
academic record and her successful business teaching dance and tumbling,
an endeavor she plans to continue while pursuing a degree in Biology
(pre-dental) at
To qualify for a Young Entrepreneur Award, students have to be running their own businesses. Students were required to write an essay describing their entrepreneurial endeavors and future goals. Standardized test scores, GPA, and class rank were also considered in the selection process. NFIB members around the country nominated applicants for the YEA. An independent, outside committee selected the group of qualified semi-finalists and finalists.
