RENO, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 2014-- EMPLOYERS^® (NYSE:EIG), America's small business insurance specialist^®, has named Larry Rogers senior vice president and chief underwriting officer. With more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, he brings to EMPLOYERS a strong underwriting background, both from a corporate office perspective, as well as deep experience as a field underwriter. He is well versed on developing strategies and building tactics to ensure profitable growth, and is familiar with web based underwriting systems for small business policyholders. Rogers has substantial experience within the state of California, in particular with small business markets. He will be based out of EMPLOYERS' headquarters in Reno, Nevada.

Most recently, Rogers served as West Zone Executive for the Tower Group Companies, responsible for leading the company’s expansion into California and the West. Prior to that, he held positions of increasing responsibility with Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, Reliance Insurance Company and ITT Hartford Insurance Group. Rogers holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from San Francisco State University.
